Appointments & Insurance
-
Luminé Wellness is out-of-network for all insurance companies, but we see patients, regardless of whether or not you have insurance.
We accept cash, Zelle/Venmo/Cashapp, check, or credit cards (with a small 4% surcharge). Superbills are available upon request — you may submit these to your insurance company for reimbursement, but we are unable to provide assistance with this and cannot guarantee payment.
If you are facing financial difficulty: we do not want finances to be the reason you are unable to receive the care that you need. Please set up a FREE Consultation with Dr. Iris to discuss your goals/needs to see if we'd be a good fit.
Payment plans are available via Cherry Payments.
All Aesthetic Medicine services except Xeomin injections are considered “elective procedures/treatments,” so unfortunately, insurance companies will not cover these services.

No, Dr. Iris sees people of all genders and ages from newborns to adults! She is Double Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) and Lifestyle Medicine, so she is trained to provide high-quality care to anyone, from children to athletes/performing artists to seniors, with acute or chronic pain resulting from injuries to or dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system (muscles, bones, ligaments, tendons, soft tissue), lifestyle-related conditions, and chronic diseases.
-
The #1 goal at Luminé Wellness is to treat your mind, body, & spirit via a “whole-person” approach - to get to the root cause of your symptoms and chronic conditions. We will work together to minimize your pain and maximize your function and quality of life via a team-based approach, where our patients play an active role in their health. Dr. Iris takes the time to get to know you as a person – not just treat your pain, injuries, and medical conditions. The field of PM&R in which Dr. Iris is trained is focused on quality of life, which includes socioeconomic factors and getting you back to doing what you love (more active lifestyle, time with family/friends, hobbies, side jobs, work).
That is why your first visit with Dr. Iris is comprehensive and generally lasts about 1.5-2 hours:
In-depth history and physical and then perform a head-to-toe neuromusculoskeletal and osteopathic exam (patients often say this is the most comprehensive exam they have ever gotten from a doctor)
Initiate treatment of 1-2 major dysfunctions that are the root cause of your pain and injuries
Discussion of relevant Lifestyle Medicine prescriptions (nutrition, exercise, stress management, restorative sleep), homework: breathwork and/or pelvic floor techniques (as needed), and mind/body coaching practices (as needed)
For prenatal patients, Dr. Iris will perform a comprehensive alignment/ADL/movement assessment and introduce you to the Prenatal Core Activation Protocol (neutral alignment, breathwork, pelvic floor activation & relaxation techniques, new mom ADLs) and discussion of birth preferences/postpartum planning including lactation and doula services.
For postpartum patients, Dr. Iris will perform a comprehensive alignment/ADL/movement assessment and introduce you to the Postpartum Protocol (neutral alignment, breathwork, pelvic floor activation & relaxation techniques, new mom ADLs) and discuss postpartum goals (return to activities and work, lactation and postpartum doula services).
All patients with Prenatal/Postpartum/OMM packages will have direct access to Dr. Iris’ personal cell for regular texting or via our HIPAA-compliant Spruce app for phone/text/email for any questions about your treatment or Lifestyle Medicine plan.

Good question!
Immediately post-treatment:
You may feel lightheaded upon sitting up but this should resolve in a few seconds to minutes
It is important to stay hydrated — you should always aim to drink half your body weight in oz of water daily and even more on the day of treatment
Avoid strenuous exercise/activities for the rest of the day, if possible, or at least for 2-3 hours afterward
Within 72 hours: You may feel sore or achy, particularly the next day, but this should resolve in a few days as your body rebalances and adapts to the changes made during the treatment session.
In the unlikely event that you have significantly worsened pain or symptoms post-treatment, please contact Dr. Iris directly at (470) 570-4341, and she will see you back within the same day or the next day.

There are multiple tiered packages available for prenatal and postpartum/4th trimester care as well as OMM packages for the general population.
Each package provides a set number of visits based on each patient’s needs as determined at the comprehensive 90-120 minute initial evaluation. Therefore, it is difficult to provide a set price until you are evaluated during your initial appointment.
Please refer to the relevant pages for Pricing of Packages & Services:
Packages are HIGHLY encouraged to provide you with the best care and results possible. There is a la carte/single session pricing for each appointment if you do not wish to purchase a package.
-
It’s simple! You have 3 options:
Book online: HERE
Call or text us: (470) 570-4341
Fill out this contact form for pricing inquiries for prenatal/postpartum/OMM packages, a la carte/single treatment sessions, or Aesthetic Medicine services
Dr. Iris will always personally contact you prior to signing up to ensure that you are a good fit. In this complimentary Meet & Greet, we will discuss your needs and goals to see if we would work well together to achieve those goals.
-
Please wear comfortable clothing (think gym apparel and layers) and bring:
A list of your current medications (or pictures with the name/dose/frequency on the pill containers)
Any relevant reports and copies of medical imaging reports (X-ray, CT scan, MRI) related to the reason for your appointment
A clean pair of socks (to keep you warm & comfortable during the treatment)
A water bottle (to stay hydrated)
If you have breastfeeding/latching concerns, it is helpful to bring your baby with you to the visit as well as everything you normally use (e.g., pump, haakaa, flanges, blanket, wipes)
-
Because your visits are comprehensive and can be quite extensive, please be respectful of Dr. Iris' time as she will be of yours. Due to the nature of the practice, a significant amount of time is set aside for each patient on top of time blocked off for travel to/from each patient's home (if applicable). Despite this, Dr. Iris may still run 5-10 min behind, on occasion. If this is the case, you will be notified as soon as possible.
With that being said, we know that life is unexpected and things come up, especially for new moms, so we try to be as flexible as possible. Please call/text (470)-570-4341 at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time to reschedule or cancel.
A $50 last-minute rescheduling/cancellation fee will be charged to the payment method on file if it is not done at least 24 hours (4 hours for 4th trimester patients) prior to the scheduled appointment time.
After 3 last-minute cancellations/reschedules, however, you will be dismissed from the practice.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
Treatments & Services

Yes, you do! Dr. Iris is Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) (aka Physiatrist), not OB/GYN or Pediatric Medicine. Although she is knowledgeable about common issues that occur in both populations, she defers specific care to the experts of those fields.
Dr. Iris is trained in PM&R, the branch of medicine that focuses on maximizing function to improve the quality of life of people with physical impairments or disabilities. She is an expert in acute and chronic pain caused by injuries to and dysfunctions in the neuromusculoskeletal system (bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, brain/spinal cord).
Due to the lack of support and understanding of the musculoskeletal issues that affect prenatal and postpartum (4th trimester) women in the U.S., Dr. Iris created Luminé Wellness by combining her passion for Women’s Health, OMM, Lifestyle Medicine, and Soul-Focused Healing to provide the best care possible for her patients.
The care that Dr. Iris provides complements but does not substitute the care you receive from your OB or your newborn's Pediatrician. While they take care of the medical issues specific to you and your newborn, Dr. Iris treats musculoskeletal issues and pain with an emphasis on maximizing function and quality of life from a holistic point of view via Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM), Lifestyle Medicine (nutrition, exercise prescriptions, stress management, restorative sleep), Soul-Focused Healing, breathwork, pelvic floor work, mind/body coaching, and lactation support.

OMM is a drug-free, holistic approach to medical care that treats the whole body and all of its systems. Unfortunately, many patients do not see us until they have already suffered from pain/injuries for years, have seen multiple doctors, tried all of the therapies/treatments under the sun (acupuncture, chiropractic, massage, cupping, reiki), and still cannot find relief.
Patients typically improve in only 1-2 treatments and experience:
Decreased or complete resolution of pain and symptoms
Decreased need for medications
Increased function and quality of life
Improved sleep quality and overall wellness
Here are just some of the conditions we treat:
OB/GYN (General Gynecology/Prenatal/Postpartum): painful periods (with associated back pain or migraines), pelvic, pubic, or back pain in pregnancy, swelling in the legs in pregnancy, nausea (including “morning sickness”), vertigo/dizziness, indigestion, or reflux in pregnancy, pelvic pain and dysfunctions (leading to urinary incontinence) postpartum, and much more
Newborns/Pediatrics: plagiocephaly or brachycephaly ("flat head"), breastfeeding issues due to poor suckling/latching, tongue/lip ties, reflux, colic, recurrent ear infections (otitis media), disordered sleep
Performance-related: any acute or chronic pain due to injuries from sports or performing arts (dancers, musicians, actors), laryngeal/vocal cord restrictions
Orthopedic/Musculoskeletal: acute or chronic neck/back pain, joint pain (knee, hip, ankle, toe, shoulder, elbow, hand/wrist, finger), acute or chronic muscle strains, sports injuries, motor vehicle collision related injuries, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain, SIJ pain, arthritis/degenerative joint disease (DJD)
Neurologic: low back pain and symptoms from herniated discs, "sciatica," head injuries (concussions/whiplash), headaches/migraines, tinnitus, vertigo, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS)
ENT/Immunologic: sinusitis symptoms and drainage issues, recurrent sinus infections

Initial OMM appointments (Pediatric/Adult) last 60-90 min
Follow-up OMM appointments may be booked in 30 or 60 min increments (determined by speaking with Dr. Iris)
Comprehensive Prenatal and Postpartum Initial Evaluations are always 2 hours long to ensure we obtain a detailed history & physical, functional assessment, diagnosis with initiation of treatment, and plenty of time for discussion
Soul-Focused Healing: initial (75-90 min), follow-ups (45-60 min)
Aesthetic Medicine Services vary based on treatments & add-ons
-
Every treatment session is individualized and every person responds differently. Generally, most patients will notice improvement immediately, after only 1 or 2 visits. Depending on medical complexity, chronicity, and severity of certain issues, you may require more visits.
Maintenance appointments are generally recommended every 3-6 months or 1 year.
-
Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine is different than chiropractic, massage, and other forms of bodywork, particularly when it comes to treatment frequency. The Osteopathic Philosophy is based on the fact that the Osteopathic Physician has an in-depth understanding of anatomy and physiology and facilitates the rebalancing process with techniques that place the body in an optimal position so it can heal itself.
Because of this, your treatment does not end once you are off the table! Your body will continue to rebalance and shift over the next week or 2. You will need to allow time between treatments, ideally ~3-7 days, for your body to recalibrate and rebalance. Too many treatments in a short amount of time can actually slow down the healing process. It is important to AVOID scheduling other forms of bodywork (all except Acupuncture) within 3 days of your visit with us as this can interfere with the treatment effects and stall the healing process.
Patients generally start at once a week which will then extend to once every other week for the first few visits. Once your body heals and you notice significant improvement, you will only have to come once every 1-3 months, every 3-6 months, and eventually, stop altogether.
Even if ALL symptoms and pain resolve in 1-2 visits, it is VITALLY important to come back to complete your recommended packages as the goal is to get to the root cause. If we do not address these fundamental issues, give your body time to integrate the treatments, and train your body to maintain its resilience, your symptoms & pain WILL come back.
Dr. Iris' goal is to never seen you again! And we mean that in the kindest way possible - but please do stop by to say hi!
By providing you with comprehensive care and teaching you lifestyle techniques to achieve wellness, you will be self-sufficient and self-reliant
Maintenance:
Once you get to an optimal point (determined by your progress & discussion with Dr. Iris), maintenance is HIGHLY recommended
Much like you would bring your car in for an oil change or yearly inspections, you should do the same for your body. We recommend treatments once every 3-6 months to 1 year or if you experience new injuries or symptoms
-
Yes, Dr. Iris is a Board Certified, fully-licensed medical doctor in the state of Georgia. She has full prescribing power, but she will only do this if it is absolutely necessary. Most labs and imaging will be obtained via your primary care provider (as it is easier for you to obtain insurance coverage this way).
-
For ALL prenatal/postpartum or in-home OMM packages, the initial visit will always be in-office to ensure you and Dr. Iris get to know each other in a professional, neutral setting for both your safety.
Lifestyle Medicine
-
Lifestyle Medicine is the use of evidence-based lifestyle therapeutic intervention as a primary modality, delivered by physicians trained and certified in this specialty, to prevent, treat, and often reverse chronic diseases, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
Therapeutic lifestyle prescriptions prevent, treat, or reverse lifestyle-related diseases where the patient plays an active role in his/her/their health:
Whole foods, predominantly plant-based diet
Regular physical activity/exercise
Restorative sleep
Stress management
Emotional well-being, resiliency, & positive social connections
Identifying risky behaviors and avoiding risky substances
It is about making lifestyle changes (that you can actually sustain & enjoy), not choosing short-term solutions that involve deprivation of all that is good in life.
-
Only those who receive a Board Certification through The American Board of Lifestyle Medicine (ABLM) or a certification (for non-physicians) through The American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) are qualified to practice it. ACLM is the medical professional society for physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, health care executives, medical students, medical residents, and others on the health care team devoted to treating, reversing, and preventing chronic disease through lifestyle behaviors as a first-treatment option.
-
No, Lifestyle Medicine is actually the foundation of conventional medicine! Throughout medical school and residency, doctors are taught to prescribe non-invasive, lifestyle management (ie, modification of diet and exercise) as the first-line treatment before prescribing medications and performing procedures/surgeries.
-
Believe it or not, most physicians (MDs and DOs) do not know much about nutrition or exercise despite the fact that >85% of chronic diseases today are caused by unhealthy lifestyle choices. Doctors are simply not taught enough of this in medical school or residency - nutrition courses are not required as part of the curriculum!
Dr. Iris is fortunate to have a B.S. in Health & Exercise Science as well as an incredible nutrition course at her medical school, RowanSOM, with Dr. Podolin. Also, being in the specialty of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, the focus is on in-depth anatomy and physiology, exercise prescriptions, and diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic pain and musculoskeletal issues. However, in most other medical specialties, nutrition and exercise are NOT incorporated into their training.
-
Chronic disease is the leading cause of death and disability in the U.S. In fact, 86% of all healthcare dollars are spent solely on chronic disease management.
Here’s some surprising (or not so surprising) facts:
More than half of adults in the U.S. have at least one chronic condition
According to the World Health Organization, 80% of heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes and 40% of cancer can be prevented, primarily with improvements to diet and lifestyle
40% of the US population are obese and 70% are overweight
11.6% of the US have diabetes and 90-95% of those with diabetes have Type 2 Diabetes which is 100% preventable and largely reversible
97.6 million people in the US (42%) have prediabetes; 90% are undiagnosed and unaware they have it
If you keep your LDL <50mg/dL (with a healthy, predominantly plant-based diet), you decrease your risk of cardiovascular disease to 0%
Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) & Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine/Treatment (OMM/OMT)
-
Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) or Treatment (OMT) is a holistic, whole-person, hands-on approach to pain and injury prevention that DOs (Doctors of Osteopathy) learn throughout medical school (& beyond) that distinguishes us from our MD colleagues. A number of techniques may be used to accomplish the same goal: to guide the body back to its natural state so it can heal itself. The body has the truly amazing innate ability to heal itself, and DOs are trained to facilitate the process by rebalancing the body with osteopathic techniques to re-establish healthy physiology - never forcing anything into place!
Cranial Osteopathy is a branch of OMM that can only be performed by DOs. In a treatment session, the Osteopathic Physician must be well-versed in the anatomy and physiology of the human body in order to listen and feel for the subtle movements of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow, the trauma that has occurred (physically, emotionally, and intergenerationally), and compensations that have resulted. With this subtle yet precise sense of touch, DOs are able to guide the body back to a state of balance, where it can then begin to heal itself, and resilience to maintain health.
-
Patients are asked to wear comfortable clothing in layers as well as a clean pair of socks since you may feel hot or cold during treatments as your body recalibrates and realigns.
No treatment session is the same, even for the same patient, as diagnoses and treatments are always based on how you present on that particular day. Treatment sessions are guided by your specific complaints and the dysfunctions found. Dr. Iris will use gentle, precise, hands-on techniques to mobilize and rebalance every tissue and structure in the body from muscles, ligaments, and tendons to joints and fascia.
Neither OMM nor Cranial Osteopathy treatments should be painful. Most treatments are performed while you are lying comfortably on your back. There may be positions that are slightly uncomfortable, but they should not cause significant pain. Iris Tian, DO, is a Physiatrist (aka Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician), which makes her an expert in the neuromusculoskeletal system. She is highly trained in the sense of touch to evaluate for changes in muscle tension and tissue quality throughout the whole body. Only gentle pressure will be applied and nothing is ever forced. Rarely, a more direct technique called HVLA (high velocity, low amplitude) is used which can result in a “pop/crack” but this will only happen on a case-by-case basis, and never applied to newborns/kids.
-
No, they may sound similar but are quite different. The main difference is that Cranial Osteopathy is ONLY performed by a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) whereas Craniosacral Therapy can be performed by anyone, including those without medical training or licenses.
Craniosacral Therapy is a highly simplified protocol derived from cranial osteopathic principles. There is no standardized training or certification for a craniosacral therapist. Some courses grant certification after only one 4-day course. Most craniosacral therapists are massage therapists, and therefore, are not licensed medical professionals, while others are physical therapists or nurses who offer craniosacral therapy within their defined scope of practice.
DOs who specialize in Cranial Osteopathy or Osteopathy of the Cranial Field receive additional hours of training in medical school and/or residency focusing on techniques with an emphasis on the autonomic nervous system and the primary respiratory mechanism (PRM) – the inherent motion of the central nervous system, cerebrospinal fluid, the surrounding connective tissue, and its manifestations throughout the body. This can take many months to years to learn to sense and many more years (10+) to fully master it.
-
First and foremost, chiropractors are NOT medical doctors. They are Doctors of Chiropractic (DC) and have very different training than medical doctors (MDs/DOs). They are not qualified to diagnose and treat outside of the musculoskeletal system nor can they prescribe medications. Traditionally, chiropractic theory focuses on the proper alignment of the spine and the impact of the spinal nerves as it relates to the body. Therefore, treatment is mainly focused on the spine as the cause of “subluxations.” There is a lack of knowledge and training on major systems of the body as well as the specialties of medicine (cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology, surgery, internal medicine, etc.). Because of this, it is important to be evaluated by a medical doctor first before starting chiropractic treatments for any sudden onset of significant pain, especially if you are experiencing weakness, numbness/tingling, and incontinence (loss of bowel/bladder control), to avoid a delay in care and prevent irreversible damage.
Fun fact: chiropractic was born from the teachings of osteopathy; however, it only focuses on a very small facet by working with the nervous system (brain & spine) and not all of the systems in the body.
In contrast, osteopathic medicine treats the whole person which means every part of the body is evaluated, including muscles, nerves, bones, connective tissue, organs, and joints of the whole body, because of the effect on the blood vessels, lymphatics, and both peripheral and central nervous systems throughout the entire person, including the autonomic nervous system.
There are only 2 degrees that qualify a person to become a licensed physician in the United States: MD (Medical Doctor) and DO (Doctor of Osteopathy). Both go through extensive medical school/training in the full spectrum of medicine, from outpatient clinics to surgery, emergency medicine, critical care (ICU), cardiology, and other acute pathology. Because of this, even those who solely practice OMM are able to manage osteopathic treatments in patients with complex medical conditions. DOs have a larger scope of knowledge and practice, so they are able to identify if/when a more extensive treatment regimen may be more appropriate (medications, surgery, further workup, and referral to a specific specialty, such as Rheumatology, Orthopedics, or Neurology) over purely osteopathic treatment or bodywork. This is essential for good patient care and safety.
Soul-Focused Healing (SFH)
-
Soul-Focused Healing (SFH) is a precise and scientific system of advanced Energy Medicine that works through the chakra system, which connects each system in the physical body with its reflection in the energy field (aka aura or electromagnetic field (EMF)). This system is a preventive system of healing that not only assists to repair and restore the natural vitality and functions of the organs, glands, and systems of the body but also releases old emotional and mental patterns and blocked energy that are at the core of dis-ease and dis-harmony in the body, mind, heart, and soul.
When your energy body is clear and balanced, it allows the innate intelligence and the divine wisdom of the Soul to express itself freely through the personality and the physical body. This allows you to not only come into balance and harmony with your physical body (decrease and resolve pain and dysfunctions) but it also helps you to live at a higher vibrational frequency to live your Soul’s purpose.
The existence of the energy field and the chakras has been known and used for thousands of years in Egypt, India and China. Only recently has the Western mind began to understand its significance.
By the time a dis-ease, dis-order, or physical ailment surfaces, it has already been cultivating in the energy field for quite some time. Just as blood is distributed in the body through the circulatory system, energy is distributed from the source of our being through the chakra system, thereby nourishing and sustaining the body. When this flow of energy becomes restricted or distorted it can lead to the root cause of patterns of dis-ease and dis-harmony at all levels of the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. This is seen in humanity today, in epidemic proportions, as dis-ease in the body and mind as well as unrest in the heart and soul. (source: SFH website)
Conventional Medicine has come a long way but we’ve fallen into the system of putting “band-aids” on issues rather than treating the root cause. We are run by Big Pharma, insurance companies, and money-hungry hospital systems that dictate what doctors can or cannot do based on reimbursement rates determined by RVUs (relative value units as a measurement system in medical billing to determine how much doctors get paid). We as doctors have lost our autonomy to do what is best for our patients. Unless we go out on our own, outside of the hospital systems and insurance companies, we can no longer provide our patients with the medical care they deserve and need. And isn’t that why we (doctors) went into medicine in the first place – to help people?
Depending on each patient’s individual case, there is a time and place for prescribing medications and recommending medical procedures and surgeries. Everything we put into and onto our bodies, including prescription drug (and natural supplements), changes our body’s epigenetics and natural design.
We need to start treating the root cause(s) and stop treating the symptoms.
We need to become more proactive instead of reactive.
-
A Soul-Focused Healing Practitioner is trained in the art of sensory perception through fine-tuning their awareness and the art of sensing and understanding the energetic anatomy and physiology of the organs, glands, and systems of the body. The practitioner goes in like a cosmic electrician assisting to release blockages, rewire broken circuits, and restore the natural design of the human energy field. This healing system assists in reestablishing the natural vitality and design of the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of the body, which allows the light of the soul to flow through the perfected anatomical design from the Source.
-
Chakra is an ancient Sanskrit word meaning “Wheel of Light”. Chakras are energy vortexes that spin clockwise and help to regulate vitality in our body and brain. They act as recording centers by locking in the memory of trauma, memories, unexpressed feelings, belief patterns etc.
Chakras are portals within the subtle body, which take in and process energy from our higher vibrational nature, so that it may be properly distributed to the organs, glands, and systems of the body. Chakras are the energetic link between the conscious and subconscious (spiritual essence).
When chakras are blocked by the “issues we are holding in our tissues,” diseases, pain, and imbalances can occur.
-
Reiki works on the general energy field without diving deeper into specific organ systems, organs, glands, or specific structures in the body.
With SFH, you get a much more in-depth session that addresses the root cause of medical conditions, illnesses, and mental health disorders, including anxiety, insomnia, digestive issues, and musculoskeletal pain and discomfort at every level of one’s being.
It assists you in awakening to become more clear and more confident in the expression of self by aligning you with your soul and a higher sense of purpose and being.
-
Dr. Iris treats at the physical, emotional, mental, and soul levels for each structure of the body to get to the root cause by tapping into the energy field at the early stages of a disease or disorder, so you can learn how to take responsibility for what is happening in your body and your life
This way, you can know what it feels like when your body needs help and you can focus on preventing issues instead of reacting to imbalances and pain once they have already occurred
True doctor-patient relationship which one where you are directly in control of your own health and body
Soul Focused Healing works with you and your relationship with yourself, others, and your environment in which you live in. It helps clear the patterning and places of tension and restriction, both past and present, which may be keeping the mind, body, heart, or soul stuck or restricted.
As Energy Medicine gains momentum in the Conventional Medicine community, Dr. Iris believes we can live in a world where SFH can be used as not only a diagnostic tool but also a non-invasive therapeutic treatment to heal the body and bring vitality to the human spirit. Through this healing process, we can awaken to the remembrance of our own soul that is aligned with Source, allowing us to live at a higher vibrational frequency and to live with purpose and compassion.

Aesthetic Medicine
-
Iris Tian, DO is a Board Certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), Lifestyle, and Aesthetic Medicine Physician, who empowers women to look and feel their best from the inside out, so they can live happy, healthy, resilient, and pain-free lives.
She added Aesthetic Medicine to her practice to truly focus on preventive care from the inside out. Her emphasis is on enhancing her patients’ natural beauty while preventing signs of aging to maintain youthfulness. She has extensive training in botulinum (neurotoxin) aka “botox” and other hands-on procedures and injections from residency and workshops. She also personally trained with Dr. Lanna Cheuck, who is NYC’s top master injector and the “Celebrity Facelift” guru.
With a focus on botulinum (neurotoxin) aka “botox” injections, vampire facials, and natural fillers (using your own body’s blood products to create a gel matrix in place of man-made fillers), she can help you stimulate your body’s own mechanisms to heal and rejuvenate itself. That, along with an expertly-formulated and curated skincare regimen using 100% botanical products and SPF daily, will keep you looking and feeling your best.

Collagen is an essential protein that our bodies produce that is found in our connective tissue, skin, tendon, bone, and cartilage. It provides structural support to tissues and is essential in tissue repair and cell signaling.
Unfortunately, collagen production starts to decline in our early 20s to the point where we are actually losing collagen by our 30s. This is why preventive care (using SPF daily, having a solid skincare regimen, avoiding products with toxic/harsh chemicals) and microneedling/vampire facial treatments, which naturally stimulate your body to produce collagen and elastin, are so important!
-
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) contains concentrated platelets and growth factors that are derived from your own blood! That means there is no risk of your body reacting negatively to it.
A small sample of blood is drawn and spun (twice) in a centrifuge to obtain the PRP.
When PRP is placed into a specific damaged area, such as the face, it triggers a healing cascade that promotes tissue responses to repair that area - the natural way. As a result, new collagen begins to form, so you are essentially “tricking” your body into creating healthier, younger skin exactly where you want it.
Of all the centrifuge machines on the market, Emcyte is one of the best and most consistent in yielding the maximum therapeutically concentrated form of PRP. And that is what we use.
-
Vampire facial = microneedling + platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to provide the ultimate more youthful, healthy, and smooth appearance.
First, a small sample of blood is drawn and spun (twice) in a centrifuge to obtain the PRP (concentrated platelets + growth factors). Then, this is used with microneedling to penetrate deep into the dermis of the skin to directly stimulate collagen and elastin production.
This is a natural way to encourage your body’s own mechanisms to stimulate new collagen growth by “tricking” your body into creating healthier, younger skin exactly where you want it.
However, not all vampire facials use PRP despite their claims. Many places claim to provide PRP, but they are, in fact, PPP (platelet-poor plasma) due to the non-therapeutic level of platelet concentration (doing only 1 spin in the centrifuge) and the type of centrifuge used. This is likely why some places offer much cheaper treatments and why it is important to do your research!
We recommend 3 treatments on average in the face, neck, & décolleté (choose, 1, 2, or all 3).
-
Not all microneedling pens are created equal. Even though there are many on the market, only a few devices are FDA-cleared. We want what’s best for our patients, and that’s why we use Rejuvapen NXT®, which is FDA-cleared for facial wrinkles and aesthetic use, and what Dr. Iris uses on herself. Rejuvapen has advanced features which allow us to customize the speed and depth exactly to what your skin needs to maximize results. Most pen depths on the market, including SkinPen, can only adjust in increments of 0.05 whereas Rejuvapen and be set to any depth in between.
