A Holistic Journey to Women’s Health

I’m Dr. Iris, a doctor who has always dreamed of making a difference in people’s lives. Growing up in South Jersey, I developed a passion for health & wellness as a young child, influenced by my mother, who was a doctor in China. I pursued my B.S. in Health & Exercise Science at The College of New Jersey before earning my medical degree (Doctor of Osteopathy) from Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine. I completed my PM&R Residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NYC, where I worked the COVID-19 units at the epicenter of the epicenter during the peak of the pandemic in 2020.

My journey has not been without challenges. After over a decade of medical training, I was disillusioned by the limitations of traditional medicine, particularly in supporting postpartum women. On top of that, the restrictions placed on physicians by insurance companies and large institutions prevent us from spending time with and providing the best care possible for our patients. Many women experience preventable pain and musculoskeletal issues during and after pregnancy, yet the healthcare system often leaves them without solutions.

I saw an opportunity to combine my expertise in Western Medicine with a holistic Eastern Medicine approach via Osteopathic & Lifestyle Medicine, to bridge the healthcare gap by addressing the unique needs of women at every stage of their lives.

The Root of the Problem

A woman’s body undergoes extraordinary changes during pregnancy to create an environment for new life.

From physiological shifts and changes in the center of gravity, increasing the risk of falls, to the physical strain of labor—often compared to running 4-5 marathons—the journey of motherhood is both miraculous and demanding. Yet, many women are told to "just deal with it" when they experience pain during pregnancy or postpartum. This is unacceptable.

I’ve spent years researching and training to fill this gap in traditional medical care. As a DO specializing in OMM/Cranial Osteopathy and Lifestyle Medicine along with my training as a Pre/Post-Natal Performance Training Specialist, I empower women to prepare for childbirth as they would for a marathon, improving their labor experience and recovery. With a blend of evidence-based medicine and holistic treatments, I’ve created a unique approach that truly supports women during this critical phase of life.

Why Luminé Wellness?

The word, "luminé," means “to illuminate” —to light up the path to healing and empowerment. My practice focuses on:

  • 4th Trimester Care: Supporting women’s physical, emotional, spiritual, and hormonal well-being postpartum. Pregnancy is transformative but also physically demanding, often compared to running multiple marathons. My goal is to help women recover, rebuild, and thrive through personalized care.

  • Preventive Lifestyle Medicine: Guiding patients toward optimal health to treat & reverse conditions through therapeutic lifestyle interventions: nutrition, physical activity, stress management, restorative sleep, and optimized social factors. Together, we prepare for life’s challenges with the same dedication an athlete or performing artist uses to train.

  • Aesthetic Medicine: Enhancing natural beauty while building confidence from the inside out through non- or minimally-invasive treatments. My goal is to help you radiate light from the inside out.

  • Soul-Focused Healing: Combining my knowledge of Osteopathic Medicine with the ancient Tibetan energy healing techniques for physical, emotional, and ancestral trauma to help patients address the root causes of pain & discomfort, which leads to profound transformation to live the soul’s purpose.
